In order to achieve its mission, COLNE held in 2021 the XII National Congress - XIII International Seminar on Neurosciences, which was held from June 18 to 26 in virtual mode. This is another example of the collaborative work led by COLNE with the most important universities and research groups in the country. On this occasion, due to the pandemic situation, the organizing committee of the congress decided to carry out this event virtually, through a platform that allowed us to access synchronously and asynchronously in each of the sessions. This committee was made up of teacher-researchers from various universities and research centers in the country, as well as the president and executive director of COLNE.
In this version of the congress and the international seminar, renowned national and international researchers from different areas of neurosciences participated, allowing the socialization of neuroscientific advances in Colombia, Latin America and the world in general. To achieve this purpose, an opening and a closing keynote lecture were presented by international speakers; ten symposia, with the participation of national and international guests who discussed the topics of neuroimaging and neuropsychiatry, neuroscience and behavior, neurodegeneration, social neuroscience, functional neuroanatomy and neurogenetics. Additionally, there was a poster exhibition, also virtual, which allowed the socialization of other studies carried out on different topics that summoned the neuroscientific community of the country with great expectation.
